People were given the assistance they required to eat and drink. The provider liaised with other health and social care professionals to address any concerns about a person’s care and welfare. Staff responded to people’s calls for assistance promptly. Health and safety systems were in place and risk assessments were carried out and actions plan implemented. Appropriate moving and handling equipment was provided for people who had mobility needs and staff had received training in using them. People were encouraged to make decisions about the care and support they received.
The service had risk assessments in place that were regularly reviewed and identified known risks. People were not deprived of their liberty unlawfully. The registered manager and staff had sufficient knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and their responsibilities within the legal framework. People’s consent to care and treatment was obtained prior to care being delivered.

They then asked me "why isn't she on the Alzheimer's floor?". The fact that the first shift did not pass this on to the following shift is horrible this place is disorganized and unsafe for my grandmother. The supervisor refused to come meet with us face to face and was telling the nurse that her spot isn't yet ready. Why didn't any of the staff on that shift know who she was or why she was there? Why didn't they assign someone to watch over her until her room on the correct floor was ready? The second day visiting her room on the Alzheimer's floor still was not ready and she still wasn't assigned a person to monitor her.

The place was very clean, bright, and the layout of the rooms were nice. There's no need for the service to take further action. – the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve. We reviewed the information and data available to us about Brymore House Care Home with Nursing on 8 December 2022. We have not found evidence that we need to reassess the rating at this stage.
They help her with cooking and cleaning and things like bathing and taking her pills. It's good because she doesn't have to drive and there are her friends there. The people that worked there seemed to be doing it for good reasons. My father-in-law had stayed at Amsterdam Nursing Home.
